She could not say where they were, or how far they had traveled. Her sense of distance and time disintegrated long ago. It seemed they had come out of the forest quickly, but the rest of the march felt endless as if it existed outside of time itself. She looked towards one of the six miniature guards that Brian had brought with who had walked beside her since they began. They were flanked on each side, with two more in the front, and two at the back. For a faded moment she thought about escape.
